To My Valued Patients and Future Patients,
It’s been a while, so I thought I would share an update on the current status of our clinic. The British Columbia Dental Association has recognized us as one of the clinics that can see patients for emergency cases. As strictly enforced by the College of Dental Surgeons of British Columbia, we are only able to see patients for urgent dental emergencies AND with the appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment). At our clinic, we have ensured we have specially fitted masks, gowns, face shields and gloves to prevent the further transmission of COVID- 19. Furthermore, we have professional air filters and have added custom made plexiglass at the reception desk.
We will initially be assessing patients over the phone if he or she reports severe dental pain, trauma or swelling🦷. Upon the phone assessment, we will book an in person appointment following a certain office protocol to limit the amount of exposure time in the clinic. There will be more detailed information given over the phone on how we are handling in person dental appointments.
With these unforeseeable times, came a huge decision that I had to make as a professional. As all of you know, I am a tall, bearded individual. As a Sikh, I have had my beard for many years and I wore it with lots of pride. Due to the current situation, in order to protect myself, my loved ones and my colleagues and patients, I made the decision of temporarily trimming my beard to guarantee the fit of my mask. This step has allowed me to feel reassurance that I have taken every drastic step to be sure my patients will be looked after in a safe manner. With that being said, if you see a tall, fully gowned individual outside of the clinic, be sure it is your local friendly dentist, Dr. Singh.
We hope you guys are staying safe and staying home during this time. Together, we will get through this.
